ABOUT BYSTANDER

This body of work reflects a decade following the rabbit hole of artistic intuition. Originally designed as visual metaphors, the icons present in Bystander have since shifted considerably from their original states to now occupy more nuanced space within the framework of my practice and in relation to one another. Each icon and isolated fragment within each painting has over time become enigmatic to me, propelling me forward on the journey of uncovering truer possible meanings. As the last decade has shown me, I am less in control of this world that presents itself to me, and more a bystander, watching it unfold alongside everyone else.
